Thoughts on My Studies

Back Into Study Mode.

Often finding time to sketch, let alone blog, is not so easy when I begin a new study unit. Come to think of it, finding time for anything else in life is most difficult.
Introduction To University Learning (OUA) prepares you for University. In hindsight, this would have been the best unit to start my journey towards my chosen degree in BA (Fine Art and Visual Culture).
In just over a week in I am learning about myself as a student and what I want from university.  I am planning my time more efficiently, letting go of things which hinder my ability to reach my goals and learning new skills to improve my concentration and memory.
I am reading, writing, thinking and remembering better than I have in years and what is most important to me is I  ENJOY what I am doing. I never thought I would enjoy school!
And I have time to sketch and blog, well for now at least.

Soul Connections

'By choosing your thoughts, and by selecting which
emotional currents you will release and which you will reinforce,
you determine the quality of your light.
You determine the effects that you will have on others
and the nature of the experiments of your life.

Warts & All

Everyday sketches and doodling not pretending to be anything other
than practise.
I like the way I draw lily, in the little red tag.

The owl was a stamp from my beautiful niece Dear, She has a lovely name and a
beautiful gentle nature to match. She is also a wonderful artist.

very nasty and unholy Sister of 'Mercy'

edm # 327

Starting today am embarking on another attempt to keep up with the good habit of drawing every day. I know no better way to maintain the daily drawing ritual than to log into edm and continue with the challenges posted in our group.
I have missed dozens of prompts so decided the best place to re-start is with the latest challenge: #327, Draw Something Super.

Here is my take on the subject.

Happy Birthday Musee du Louvre

Yesterday was the anniversary of the opening of the Museum Central des Arts, or the Musee du Louvre as it is known as today. Standing as one the largest and most visited museum in the world, the Louvre first made its masterpieces available to the public 219 years ago.

I took this photo during my recent visit to Paris. I was so excited to finally see the Louvre and I was in awe of the size of it. Obviously I did not get to see everything I had planned. Ah well, looks like I am just going to have to make an effort to return to Paris! ;)

London, Paris, Home..........

London, Paris, Scotland

Recently I was fortunate enough to have spent, part of May, all of June and a few days in July travelling London, Paris and Scotland and have had an amazing experience. I can't really explain how much this trip has influenced me and changed me. I always thought I would not, ever, go to see the places in the world that I had dreamt of going. And yet, I did. Thanks to my darling  Dad!! When he passed away he left me the money and the instructions to go, travel and see the world. It has been almost four years since my hero passed away and 2012 has been the year for me to see the world.
I have experienced so much in the few weeks I was away, museums, galleries, architecture and castles and More. I fully intend to return to Paris and London and Portugal and then see Italy next year. I am very fortunate!!

No 8 Rue Des Moulins is where we stayed in Paris, It was a gorgeous little ground floor apartment with everything we could possibly need. Our host, Naomi, was an absolute darling, her family were equally wonderful and I can totally recommend this wonderful little place smack bang  in the first arrondissement in Paris.
